How it all started...
After completing my education at Ball State University, I embarked on a fulfilling journey that led me to become a dedicated stay-at-home mom. During this time, I discovered a passion for volunteering, which became a significant part of my life.
One day, as my daughter entered first grade, she approached me with a simple yet profound question: 'How do I do a cartwheel?' Little did I know that this innocent inquiry would spark the birth of Tumble U, all thanks to my daughter Kyndall's curiosity and enthusiasm. In my basement, on a wrestling mat, I began teaching my daughter and her friends – Morgan, Bailey, Kathleena, and Carly – various gymnastics skills. Week by week, these talented young girls continued to master new skills, and I soon realized it was a combination of their natural talent and my teaching abilities. With the desire to share this newfound passion with others, I initiated tumbling classes at a local community center. Tumble U quickly gained momentum, and with each growth spurt, we found ourselves in a new location. Finally, Tumble U has settled into our current state-of-the-art facility, offering not only tumbling classes but a diverse range of programs. Today, we have nearly 650 kids in our classes and a formidable team of ten exceptional instructors guiding our competitive teams. I owe a special debt of gratitude to my family for being my unwavering support throughout this incredible journey. My husband, Chris, and I have shared more than 30 wonderful years together, raising four remarkable children. Conner, Caden, Logan, and Kyndall are all pursuing their unique paths in higher education and sports, keeping me happily occupied when I'm not at the gym – usually cheering them on at sporting events. Tumble U is not just a gymnastics facility; it's a reflection of my family's dedication, the passion of our young athletes, and the tireless commitment of our fantastic team. I look forward to sharing our journey with you and helping your child discover their own love for gymnastics and physical fitness. ~Dawna |
